PM vows Jordan will continue fight against terrorism after deadly stabbing attack

AMMAN: Jordan’s Prime Minister Jafar Hassan vowed on Friday that his country will continue its fight against terrorism after a stabbing attack killed a police officer and injured another in Amman.
Hassan condemned the killing of Corporal Jawad Al-Salayta, who was attacked while on duty on Thursday, and pledged a firm response to threats against the country’s security and social cohesion.
“We will strike with an iron fist against the hideouts of extremists and terrorists, and anyone who cooperates with them,” Hassan wrote on X.
He said Jordan would show no tolerance toward extremist ideology, offering condolences to Al-Salayta’s family and wishing a speedy recovery to Lt. Firas Al-Ananzeh, who was injured while confronting the attacker.
