Saudi defenses intercept two Houthi ballistic missiles targeting Riyadh

RIYADH: Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles fired by Yemen’s Houthi militia toward the Saudi capital, Riyadh, the coalition said on Sunday.

Earlier, the Saudi air defenses also intercepted a missile targeting the Eastern Province.

Coalition spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki announced the interceptions, the latest in a series of aerial threats targeting several Saudi regions since the beginning of November.

The Saudi Civil Defense on Sunday issued alert warnings of potential danger in Riyadh City and Najran Provice, but lifted them shortly afterwards. The authority earlier raised warnings on Buqayq and Al-Ahsa Governorates and Dammam City but immediately lifted them after the danger has passed.
